Successful Police Operation in Ludhiana Leads to Arrest of Three Truck Thieves
Ludhiana Police have successfully apprehended three individuals involved in truck theft following a special operation targeting robberies, thefts, and other criminal activities. The operation was conducted under the supervision of Commissioner of Police Ludhiana, Swapan Sharma, IPS, Additional Commissioner of Police Rupinder Singh, IPS, ADCP-1 Sameer Verma, PPS, and ACP North Kikkar Singh, PPS. Inspector Jasveer Singh, Station House Officer of Jodhewal Police Station, led the police team during the operation, which resulted in the arrest of the following suspects: Ranjit Singh, son of Fakir Singh Lavdeep Singh, son of Ranjit Singh, resident of House No. 1899, Sector 12, Sonipat, Haryana Gurtej Singh, son of Davinder Singh, resident of Village Yadopatti, Ward No. 06, Jandiali Road, Sahnewal, Ludhiana During the operation, the police recovered the stolen truck (RJ 09GC 8757) and the car (Brezza, HR10 AM 2386) that was allegedly used during the theft. A case No. 38 dated 03.03.2026 under Sections 304(2) and 3(5) BNS has been registered at Jodhewal Police Station, Ludhiana, and the accused were taken into custody for investigation. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects stole the truck from Guru Vihar Katt, Ludhiana, on March 2, 2026, from complainant Harchand Singh. It was also discovered that suspect Lavdeep Singh has a prior case registered under the NDPS Act at Sadar Khanna Police Station. Further interrogations are ongoing to uncover more details related to the incident. The operation demonstrates the Ludhiana Police’s continued focus on preventing vehicle theft and maintaining law and order in the region.
