In the latest incident, Russia launched a missile strike on Ukraine’s largest steel plant in the city of Kryvyi Rih, causing significant damage and leaving two people dead. The attack took place on Saturday night at the steel plant owned by ArcelorMittal, the company associated with Indian billionaire Lakshmi Mittal. According to the information available, two people were killed in the strike, while 13 employees and contractors sustained injuries. The facility is Ukraine’s largest steel plant and plays an important role in the country’s industrial sector. Following the attack, production operations at the plant had to be partially suspended. Several critical sections of the facility were damaged in the strike, including energy infrastructure and blast furnaces. The damage has affected the plant’s operations and prompted an immediate response from emergency teams. Firefighters, rescue personnel and medical units reached the site following the attack. Relief and rescue operations are currently underway as authorities assess the extent of the damage and respond to those affected. The incident comes amid continued military tensions between Russia and Ukraine, with air strikes remaining a frequent feature of the ongoing conflict.
