Government Removes Education Secretary Amid NEET Paper Leak Protests

Amid the ongoing NEET paper leak controversy and protests led by the CJP, the Central Government has carried out a major administrative reshuffle. Late on Thursday night, orders were issued for the transfer and promotion of 17 senior officers as part of a wider bureaucratic reorganization. The most significant changes were made within the Ministry of Education. The government has removed the current Education Secretary, Vineet Joshi, from his position. In his place, Naresh Pal Gangwar, a 1994-batch IAS officer of the Rajasthan cadre, has been appointed as the Secretary of the Department of Higher Education. In another key appointment, T.K. Anil Kumar, a 1995-batch IAS officer, has been promoted and appointed as the Secretary of the Department of School Education and Literacy. As part of the reshuffle, Vineet Joshi has been reassigned and appointed as the Secretary of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj after being relieved of his responsibilities as Education Secretary.
