Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has said that the state government is continuously working to increase farmers’ income by connecting them with modern agricultural technologies, new markets and global opportunities. According to him, the government is focused on creating new avenues for growth and prosperity in the farming sector. As part of this initiative, the Chief Minister highlighted the renewed emphasis on the “Go Global” approach. Under this vision, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) from Haryana will now be able to explore agriculture and agribusiness opportunities in Tanzania, Kenya and other African countries. During the Chief Minister’s visit to Morni in Panchkula, a significant agreement was signed between the country’s renowned spice company MDH and six Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) from Haryana. The agreement was formalized in the presence of Nayab Singh Saini. The initiative has been implemented jointly by the Foreign Cooperation Department and the Horticulture Department. Its objective is to connect farmers with international markets, enhance their income and create new opportunities within the agricultural sector. Addressing a dialogue programme, the Chief Minister said the Haryana government does not want farmers to remain confined to traditional farming practices. Instead, the focus is on linking them with agricultural entrepreneurship, value addition and international trade so that they can become self-reliant and economically stronger. He further stated that continuous efforts are being made to provide Haryana’s farmers with access to global markets and help them benefit from emerging opportunities in the agriculture and agribusiness sectors. The initiative is expected to open new prospects for farmers while encouraging diversification into crops such as ginger, turmeric and chilli in the Morni region.
