India celebrated a successful day at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow as boxers Preeti and Jasmine Lamboria secured gold medals in their respective categories. With Preeti’s victory, Haryana claimed its third gold medal at the Games. Competing in the 54 kg weight category, Preeti delivered a dominant performance to defeat Canada’s S.S. Soon after, Jasmine Lamboria added another gold for India by winning the 57 kg weight category. She defeated M. These include Priya Ghanghas of Bhiwani, Sakshi Choudhary, Preeti Panwar, Sachin Siwach, Ankush Panghal of Hisar, and Narender Berwal of Hansi. Reacting to Preeti’s victory, her father expressed his happiness, saying the family was proud that she had won a gold medal for the country. He recalled that before leaving for Scotland, Preeti had promised to return with a medal for India regardless of the challenges, and she successfully fulfilled that promise. Following Jasmine Lamboria’s gold medal triumph, her father Jaiveer Singh said the family was delighted with her achievement. He noted that they had expected Jasmine to perform well, although there was some nervousness during the match. He added that the family would give her a grand welcome when she returns to Bhiwani.
